If a PC has not been used for a while, or Teams hasn't been used for a while, or it is not used consistently on a computer over a period of time; it may not update.


Unlike other Office and Windows updates, Teams updates itself when it is open and while you are using it.

If it is telling you that you have 28 days (or less) to update before you cannot use it anymore, you may need to force the update.


Click on your initials in the top-right of the screen:


At the bottom of the menu is the Check For Updates option:



Select this and after around 10 minutes, Teams will inform at the top of the screen that it needs to refresh to install the update.

Click the refresh button and Teams will restart with the latest versions.


This applies to all users, all PCs and all Laptops. Including those in school.
