There are some first steps that a new user needs to take before being able to use the iPads.


Each user account is assigned an Apple ID automatically and it is linked with their school login and their Microsoft Office account.


The first time a user signs in to a Shared iPad (so any iPad in the trolley, or classrooms) they need to set up their Apple ID.




Switch on the iPad and you are met with a login screen:

(You can get to this screen by pressing the Other User button at the bottom-left of the screen if there are users already listed here)

Enter your email address and press Sign In


You will be taken to a series of screens: (Press Continue, when asked)





























The Office login screen will appear:

Sign in with your email address and network password. Select Yes when asked if you wish to stay Signed in.


You may need to wait for the iPad to link the account.


Next you will be asked to set a passcode.

It is important that students write this passcode down in their diaries. Make sure it is easy enough to remember (make it a memorable date, for example)


 


When the passcode is set up, press Get Started and you will log in to the iPad.


Each user has their own iCloud account, with storage, as well as access to the Microsoft services such as OneDrive.




It is important that the iPad is signed out when finished so the account can sync to the cloud.
