To join the school wifi you will first need to raise a ticket for the Wifi password and proxy settings.
Students are not allowed to use the school wifi
Once joined to the wifi you will need to enter the proxy settings and download a certificate to be able to activate full access to the internet.
Download the certificate from the bottom of this page.
WINDOWS:
There are some scripts you can download to your PC or Laptop to enable and disable the school proxy. Raise a ticket if you wish to use these or follow the instructions below to set up manually.
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Network & internet > Proxy
Turn ON the Proxy Server
Enter the Proxy address and port into the boxes.
In the large box Use the proxy server for addresses that start with the following entries" Enter 10.*.*.*
Press Save
Close Settings.
Browse to the certificate (usually in the Downloads folder).
Double-click it.
- The Certificate window will appear. Click Install Certificate.
- Choose a Store Location. Either should work, Local Machine installs for all users of the machine but will require Admin privileges.
- Click Browse. Choose the Trusted Root Certitfication Authorities store. Click Ok.
- Click Finish and restart any open browsers.
Remember to go back to Settings and switch off the Proxy once you leave site or you will not be able to access the internet ( eg from home)
iOS
Go to Settings and Wifi
tap the (i) next to HVH Wifi
Scroll down and you’ll see the “HTTP Proxy” option at the bottom of the screen.
Select “Manual”. Enter the address of the proxy server in the “Server” box and the port it requires in the “Port” box. Your organization or proxy service provider will provide you with these details.
If the proxy server requires a username and password—your proxy provider will let you know if it does—enable the “Authentication” option here. Enter the username and password the proxy server requires in the “Username” and “Password” boxes.
Enter the Server and Port information you were given in your ticket. (Left picture, above)
If you are informed you need to enter your username and password tick the Authentication box and enter these details (right picture, above)
These settings are saved to just HVH wifi so there is no need to change these settings when joining another network (eg home)
Download the Certificate (at the bottom of the page)
The device will show a message: "This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?"
- Tap Allow.
The device will show another message: "Review the profile in Settings app if you want to install it."
- Tap Close.

Next Steps: Installing the Profile
- Open the Settings app.
- Underneath the User details for the device, tap Profile Downloaded.

The Install Profile screen will be displayed.

In the top right corner, tap Install.
If the iOS device has a passcode set, the device will prompt you to enter it. Enter the passcode.

A certificate warning will be displayed. Tap Install. If a second prompt is displayed, tap Install again.

The Profile Installed screen is displayed. Tap Done.

Trusting the Certificate
Before the certificate can be used as intended, it must be trusted by the device.
On the device, go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings (at the bottom of the page).
The installed Root Certificates will be displayed in a section entitled "Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates."
There is a slide button next to each certificate.

Tap the slide button next to the certificate you just installed.
A confirmation dialogue will be displayed.
Tap Continue.

Android
Navigate to Settings > Network & internet > Internet.

Configuring mobile network settings
2. Tap your mobile network provider’s settings, scroll to the bottom, and select Access Point Names (APNs).
3. Choose an APN you’re currently using to configure the Android proxy settings.
4. Under Proxy, Port, Username, and Password, enter your proxy details and credentials received from your ticket.

Download the Certificate (bottom of the page) and follow the instructions to install it (you can give it any name you like). If you do not have a PIN code set up you'll be asked to set one up.
You will not need to switch the proxy on or off if you leaver the site (eg home)
MAC OS
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Network
in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Click a network service on the right, then click Details.
Click Proxies.
If you want to configure your proxy settings manually, do the following for each proxy you want to set up:
Turn on a proxy, then enter its address and port number.
If needed, turn on “Proxy server requires password”, then enter your user name and password.
Click OK.
You will need to enter these settings for http and https.
You may also wish to set up a Location so you can easily switch the proxy or or off between home and school.
Now to install the certificate:
- Download the certificate CRT file. (Link at the bottom of the page)
- Navigate to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access
- Select "System" in the left-hand column.
- Open ‘File > Import Items’ and import the certificate files into the "System" keychain.
- The certificate should now show with a red X. That means it is entrusted. To provide trust, double-click the *.securly.com certificate. Under "Trust", change the setting at the top (When using this certificate) to "Always Trust". The GIF is pictured below.
Alternatively, you can automate the installation process via MDM by downloading the ‘OSX SSL Install Securly.zip’ file at the end of this article. The file contains a .app that would automate the process. There is also a .pkg file that can be used directly on a Mac.
